Penn State Club of Lebanon County Scholarship

Dear Matthew Knoster,

Congratulations on having been chosen as the 2020 Cedar Crest High School recipient of
the former Penn State Club of Lebanon County scholarship award!

With funds remaining in the treasury when it disbanded as a formal organization several
years ago, the former Penn State Club of Lebanon County joined with the county school
districts to establish an award to encourage students to attend Penn State. This fund
provides a small monetary gift to a senior in each school district each year, who has
chosen to attend one of the Penn State campuses to further their education.

Criteria given to the districts to choose the student included the following: Someone
who...
~will be matriculating at one of the statewide Penn State campuses starting the following school year, and who could benefit from scholarship assistance,
~has had an academically successful high school career, as well as has been active in a variety of extracurricular activities,
~is enthusiastically looking forward to attending Penn State and becoming active in not only the scholastic opportunities there, but also extracurricular activities,
~will be a highly motivated, well-rounded individual who will be an excellent representative at Penn State of both the school district and of Lebanon County.

Your enthusiasm for becoming a Penn Stater, and your desire to participate in THON while
there, as a means of giving back to the program that was instrumental in helping you regain
your health, were critical in the decision by the Cedar Crest staff to chose you to be the
recipient of this scholarship award for 2020!

On behalf of the Penn State alumni who belonged to the former Penn State Club of
Lebanon County, we want to congratulate you for being an exemplary student with an
enthusiastic desire to become a Penn Stater to pursue your future academic and lifetime
ambitions. Your academic record, extracurricular activities and desire to positively represent
your school and Lebanon County, are commendable!

Our best to you as you enter the Pennsylvania State University, enjoy the opportunities
that being a Penn Stater can provide for you, and one day also become a Penn State
alumnus to carry on our traditions.
